Our Orchards
Right from the very beginning quality comes first. When planting new trees, we insist on only the best available. We replace old trees and update with new trees using the newest varieties on a regular and preplanned schedule. Our concern for the beauty of the environment and the health of the fruit insures that we keep up with all the latest developments regarding food safety. We practice integrated pest management to ensure only the safest and healthiest fruit.

Our Plant
Built from the ground up in 1996, our " State of the Art" packing and storage facility is centrally located among all growers and our computerized packing line can produce high quality packs to the specification you desire. It is amazing to see how the computerized and automated conveyor line has built in safeguards to prevent even the slightest bruising to the fruit. This plant packs out over a million boxes of apples each year.

Packs are available in all sizes of poly bags, trays and cell packs, tri-wall hi-graphic bins, tote bags and the new Ifco tray pack. Because of our ultramodern cold storage capabilities, we are able to ensure freshness and quality through the month of June.

Quality and Consistency
Attention to detail is seen in every aspect of the business including the continuous monitoring of the C.A. (Controlled Atmosphere) rooms, which makes sure the fruit stays at its best. Quality control is realized by the never-ending involvement of the Albinder family in every aspect of the operation.

The field men are constantly monitoring all the packers, checking color, size, pressure, and, of course, most importantly, taste.

Highly trained professionals supervise every facet of the business. Most customers have been with Hudson River Fruit for many years and remain loyal because of the consistent level of quality and support.

This standard of quality is set at the top and maintained throughout the organization. Even most of the seasonal pickers return year after year, (some for over 25 years) because of the respect they are given and the standards of quality they appreciate.

We have established standards that must be met at our packing facility including:

Third party audits, such as Global Gap that cover orchard safety, worker welfare and safe growing practices:

The packing facility has to adhere to strict safety audits, such as BRC, to ensure that our customers have total confidence in every piece of fruit we deliver.

Service
By maintaining its own fleet of trucks Hudson River Fruit Distributors even controls the time it takes to get the apples to the customer. We specialize in chain store orders and our business is geared to support the chain buyer. We offer advanced pricing promotions, all fruit is PLU and UPC coded, EDI compatible and, of course of the highest quality. Of Course, the Albinders and their highly trained professional staff are always standing by and at your service.
